Satan Claus

Satan Claus is a platformer game for the 16-bit retro console Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive). It tells the story of Satan Claus, who has a terrible dream that foretells various horrors in the real world. It is Satan Claus and his followers who summon demons into our world with their Christmas rituals, and these demons have arrived, led by a supreme demon revered in Slavic mythology. Now, under your careful control, the game's hero must embark on a journey to return gifts, solve puzzles, and slay demons and their bosses.

The game's plot is told through short cutscenes and is quite strange, but the gameplay is quite good – the hero navigates numerous levels that require not only action but also a sharp mind. There are over 20 levels, each one distinct: in one, you need to take a key and open a door, in another, you need to arrange stone blocks correctly, in another, you need to escape a giant boulder, in yet another, you need to descend an elevator while avoiding falling icicles, and so on. There are few bosses in the game, but they are gigantic and have complex attack patterns. There are bonus levels where you simply collect gifts; 100 of these reward you with one life. The game is endlessly replayable, but only if you escape hell, where Satan Claus always ends up.

The graphics and effects in the game are decent, as are the music and sound effects. However, the game can be challenging on your first playthrough, so it's not recommended to increase the difficulty above medium.

An excellent game that draws you in with interesting levels, is quick to complete, and leaves a good impression with its gameplay. Overall, it's worth playing.
